My name is Helen, and I am a long standing member of the Busy Bees family with continuous service since February 2003. I started at the Guiseley nursery when it first opened in 2003 as a Nursery Nurse after qualifying from college with my CACHE Diploma in Childcare & Education (level 3). I worked my way up the career ladder during my time there and led and supported the nursery with its growth, development and ‘Outstanding’ reputation. I transferred and was appointed permanent Nursery Manager here at Hornbeam Park in January 2018 and look forward to driving the nursery forward with Busy Bees.
I also hold a BA (Hons) Degree in Early Childhood Studies and also what is more commonly known now as Early Years Teacher Status (EYT). I have also completed courses in Senco training, First Aid at Work, paediatric first aid and Food Hygiene and my level 5 in Leadership and Management.
I have always been passionate about my job. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing children achieve and grow as they develop their own little personalities. I like to ensure that this is at the forefront of what I do and that this passion can be embedded into the staff team I work with, to ensure we are delivering the highest standards to the children we care for and that are given as many learning opportunities as possible.
I also pride myself on communication and partnership with parents, and welcome an open door policy at the nursery where parents can come and speak to me about even the smallest of things of this build confidence and ever important relationships within the nursery.
I am a full time working mum, my son attended the Busy Bees in Guiseley and started school in September 2016. This was a great foundation for his learning and development. The things I have seen him achieve are amazing and I hope this continues for our current and new parents as we welcome them to Busy Bees. Nursery life is a great platform for young children’s development and well-being and it is so rewarding to be a part of that.
